Election is over! We won!!

Finally got my bumper sticker a few days ago. It only took two or three months. Obama won his second term. It has been a big relief. I can breath easier knowing that we will have four more years of intelligent leadership. A chance to make supreme court appointments that would enhance women's and gay issues. Someone who really cares about all the people. And yes continue the respect in the rest of the world that we have just begun to improve. A second term to complete what he started.

I am finally feeling better due to physical therapy. It has been a slow go, luckily I have all the time in the world. This definitely has been a challenging time health wise. But knock wood, kunehura, I am seeing a light at the end of this tunnel. My truck has also been disabled most of this time. Been to the shop three times. They say that's the charm. Knock wood.

I've been starting to exercise a bit. I've been enjoying the fall colors, and believe it or not the balmy weather. Love to all.

L'Shanah Tova - Happy New Year 5773

It is once again a new year. A time to have ritual and connect to ancient ways. This morning I went to the river and tossed in some twigs, rocks, flowers, and leaves, adding to them wishes and letting go. I have been doing this for years with my friend Tamara. I have been playing with the above image for days now. Originally Lore got it at a yard sale, and we all thought Deliah would be the perfect person for it. And it was true. But I fell in love with it too. I then decided I would make my own copy, and frame it. So I finally finished it and only have to send the original to Deliah. The photo is from 1860 of the jews wailing at the wall on a friday, by Bonfils.

My biggest issue is my leg and back pain. I've been doing lots of stuff, but I admit I'm not getting better. Soon physical therapy. I've been receiving great healing from friends, and mostly doing sedentary stuff, like sitting at computer and doing art.

You Ain't Going Nowhere

Been singing this song for about a month now, "Ooh wee ride me high" since my back started hurting. By Mid August it really increased and now the song changed, to Feeling Allright, Not feeling too good myself. I'm getting around minimally. That means a lot of sitting, but driving is possible and also those cute little carts in some of the stores.
Went to LaRosa's 70th- a garden party- quite lovely. Friends from out of town have come and gone, and it was good, but nice to have my house back. The recent visit flowed really well considering trying to please lots of people and make arrangements for food and getting together.

Bye Bye Birdie

Our bird flew to freedom yesterday. He hung around for hours in our cedar tree, and now is gone. We wish him well and hope freedom is good. We miss him. It has been months since I wrote. Lots of stuff happened.

Maya went to her first prom with her friend Mati. They both looked beautiful. She is growing up fast. Finished her first year of high school.
Aggie has her garden, and is quite in love with it. And me, I'm doing a little art (silk painting) and earrings, and walking coco, cooking now and then, and enjoying the nice weather.

Adventure, Art and Alice on my Birthday

Had a great adventure to Brice Creek and Cedar Creek Falls on my birthday. The waters were raging and we saw so many waterfalls. Coco added to our adventure by going in the water. She picked a spot where it was more still, but then couldn't get back up the rocks to us. Aggie and I sprinted like gazelles to her safety.

Went to an art museum opening and later out for some eats at the U of O campus. It has been a perfect birthday so far, getting loved and adored by all my friends. Then lastly I got Salvador Dali's Alice in Wonderland chapter, "the Pool of Tears" from Paddy. I have been wanting that for a long time. It is great to get what you want. Kunehura.

Bringing Back That Aloha Spirit

Just back from Kauai, and it was beautiful, breathtaking, and relaxing. I'm still singing "don't worry be happy". We had several condo's right on the ocean, went snorkeling, walking, sightseeing, helicopter riding, and lot's of good eating. Saw seals, fish, birds, chickens, flowers. That ocean water was perfect, warm and wonderful. Great friends to share it with. It took a couple of days to start to relax, but then it set it, and hopefully will stay a while. Harriet was able to pull off a miracle getting us all there, and then treating us to a candlelight sunset dinner.
The biggest feat was changing the weather from rain and floods to sunny and warm. Made it happen. Mehalo.

More Prints to Come

Second class even better than the first. Made three linocuts this time, and they came out great. I surprised myself and did what I planned. Played around, and made some art. It was way easier than I thought.
