Wedding and Trip to Santa Barbara

Just got back from our California trip. It was all beautiful. I loved the place we stayed in Santa Barbara, and the rehearsal and wedding were terrific.

We got to hang out with Vince and the family the night before and it was believe it or not relaxing and easy. My pictures were mostly blurry, that happens when I get excited. But I captured most of the moments.

Aggie brought the cake topper from Eugene, three generations of weddings. It was on Carlotta's, Aggie's, and now Lidia's cake.

We drove up and down, so we got to stop at Barb and Ruby's on the way down, staying at "Nate's Place", and visit with Angela on the way back. It was so good to have those stops to visit with friends, and see Angela's set up at the Tannery. All very inspiring.

Odell No Snow

This was the first time at Odell that there was absolutely no snow for the entire time we were there. It was beautiful as the sun shined every day. Very relaxing way to spend three days. Watched movies, ate good food, and took nice walks/hikes around the lake.
It is the end of the year, and it was a pretty good one, knock wood. Went to Hawaii, bought a new Prius C, and took a great class in process work from Gary Reiss. Had nice visits from friends and family. I made jewelry, did some printmaking, and cooked and baked alot.

Hawaiian Time

On the Big Island for Diana Duff's 70th Birthday. First stayed in Kona at a lovely Condo. Now in Kealakekua Bay at a fabulous B & B. Will add pictures if I can. Enjoying the island breezes. It is in the 80's all day and night.
Been to some wonderful restaurants in some fancy hotels. Of course snorkeling and shopping. Tonight is the big bash for 70 people. Should be wild.

Harriet joined us mid week for the celebration.

June Busting out all over

A little update and what I've been up to. Utilized my creative juices on the bathroom downstairs redo. It came out so beautiful, the choice of colors were perfect, and the new vanity fits better than even hoped

Took a wonderful class from Gary Reiss on process work and new ways to approach body symptoms and relationship work. Found in fascinating and helpful.

The weather is hot and sunny, and Maya is done with school, with her King's Krew performance next week.

I am just going with the flow. Helped with an invitation to Sally's button show. It was fun working/playing with her.

Passover-Sylvia's Fried Matzo

I found this recipe and tried it last night. It was perfect. I channeled Sylvia and although I probably 1/6 the recipe it was super comforting. Here is her recipe as written on a torn piece of paper.
6 eggs separated
1 1/2 cups water
2 1/2 cups matzo meal
3 big onions
salt and pepper
on dry matzo.
Separate the eggs. Add to the yolks finely grated onion, water and matzo meal to make a soft batter- (think matzo meal pancakes). Whip egg whites to firm. Add salt and pepper and the whipped whites.
Spread combined mixture on dry matzo, both sides. Fry in oil, turning when browned on each side. Yum.
Enjoying this Passover, went to a Seder at Nadia's which was fun. I've and been looking up gluten free matzo, Shmurah matzo. and making matzo.

Made several batches of macaroons. Both the almond and coconut were simple, made from organic ingredients, sugar and egg whites.

The opposite of LOL is SIS Suffering in Silence

Been talking about this state of bliss, now I believe it is the absence of pain. Took a fall with my bike on Monday and fell right smack on my back. I was worried but adrenalin got me home. Started taking arnica and icing and all the remedies I know, and resting. It is Wednesday and I'm stocked up on homeopathic remedies.
As long as I'm still I can avoid pain.
Accidents are a funny thing. Learning from mistakes, to not repeat them. Sigh. Breath, laugh, cry. Light a few candles to hope for the best.

Cookies and Carving

Finally adding a new post. I've been enjoying my time to do whatever I please and it turns into making cookies and doing art. I've been doing some print making in my makeshift dining room table. It is fun and takes only a little time to set up, and take down. The cookies are my way of being creative, trying new wheat free recipes, and of course the old standbys.

Hey, I even joined a gym. That may be part of the new creative outlet, as I procrastinate about going to the gym, by doing art. It is all an amazing cycle of avoiding healthy stuff. However, I still have made it to the gym five times so far. My health insurance pays for it through the Silver Sneakers program. Sometimes it pays to get old.
