Remembering Roadie

On January 11, 2012 Roadie passed over. We will miss him and his gentle presence on this earth. He was a quiet soul, with a kind and curious nature. He would let Maya dress him and carry him around. He looked forward to Aggie coming home from work, as if he had a clock, from his Doggie Day Care upstairs. I would listen for him climbing the stairs and coming in his little doggie door. Coco loved having his companionship. He left us as sweetly and gently as he came into our lives. We love and miss him. He is on the Roadie again.

To All My Friends

This is to all my friends that make me laugh so hard I need to wear my poise pad to be with them. Thank you for all the laughs, I know I am having a good time when I'm laughing that much.

Just came back from visit with Barb and Ruby. It was so nice. It was a wonderful weekend. Got to hang out, eat really
delicious food, do fun things, and laugh a lot. I feel inspired to do art. Here is a picture from an autumn walk in the Northwest. No Palm trees, but right now we have the color.

Culinary Class at Lane

I got into the cooking class at Lane. I have been trying for a while. It is a hoot. I went to the first class, and we made pasties. The guest chef was the owner of "Cousin Jack's Pasties". Every week there is a different guest chef with a particular point of view. This one was all about natural, organic, and locally made. I still need to register.
I was surprised how comfortable I am in the kitchen. The best part is that we make and get to eat some great food. We learned some of the basics, like saying "behind you" when you walk behind someone, so they don't stab or burn you. I did slip on the wet floor, (I think another visit to the chiropractor is in order). It was total chaos in the kitchen, but miracles happen and we made some delicious pasties. The crust was incredible. The secret ingredient- orange juice in the crust. Of course I am the oldest in the class, or should I say elder. It is nice when you get what you want.

Old Lesbian, New T-Shirt

I just got this shirt in the mail. It makes me happy, I got it from Older Lesbians Organizing for Change (OLOC). I saw it on Alix Dobkin in a photo, and had to have it. Found it after some searching, (I'm a very good finder).

Got great feedback from Facebook. Getting older, it isn't as easy as I thought. Luckily I have plenty of time to figure out how to get healthy. Right now I'm a little more into indulging, to comfort myself. Paddy is coming to visit, she is a healthy influence.

Summer has come with a vengeance. It was cold for months, and now we are having a heat wave. I need to remember to go out before it gets too hot.
Summer is here, good time for vacations.

Mother's Day Paella

This Mother's Day, Maya made Paella for all her moms. That is a big deal. We all were at Lisa's house, she is a very relaxed host. Paella is a fun food to eat, and this one was huge, and we ate it right out of the pan. Aggie, Maya and I also went out for lunch the day before.
Aside from rain on and off for days, all is well. Went to a party at Marlene's for Miche who was back in town. It was a fun reunion. I've been connecting with people from my youth through facebook. So interesting that time in my life is coming back. Especially when I am starting to feel my age. Where is that fountain of youth?

Its My Birthday Week

420-This was my actual birthday, and I felt loved and pampered by all my friends and family.

We went away for the weekend to the coast, and has such a relaxing, fun time.

I had a great acupuncture treatment, and finally felt something move in me. My heart was opened, I wept with release. Now my back needs to follow. Last night I went to see Wicked with Aggie after dinner at Zenon. More birthday activities today and this weekend. Then there is spending my gift money. It feels good to be alive, knock wood.

RVing in Spring

I got out and about this last weekend to meet up with RVing women in Bandon. I first went to Florence and camped at Honeyman, and then went on to Bandon. The motorhome was great for almost all of the trip. My back and legs even gave me a reprieve for a while. Got to walk the most beautiful of beaches and Coco got to run free. The weather too was wonderful. It was great to get out of the home for a while and start spring on a new adventure. This is a big year, turning 65 and I feel it.
